We could know the present and the future of an area with high potential to elaborate aged wines. A walk through a magic place in Urdaibai where history, culture, nature, vineyards and txakoli’s

elaboration coexist in a new perfect integrated winery. The innovation, investigation and respect for the origin will show us the big diversity of Bizkaia and its wealth. The tastings will be in unique and variated places and they will surprise us because of its originality and personality.

 he visit will be an inclusion to the heart of Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve from a little shed where Itsasmendi’s history will be told accompanied by a reception aperitif. We will introduce ourselves to the nature where the flora and fauna diversity will take us to Urdaibai knowledge. A walk through Amunaga river in the centenary oak forest, will open us a landscape composed by mountains like Oiz or Anboto, plein of mythological stories. The vineyards are harmoniously integrated in a scenery full of diversity of plants and animals and our local varieties garden can be visited.

The txakolis will be tasted in different places with a large beauty where we will know not just its rigin but also little stories about the region associated with local activities as tile factories, ranching, forest development, txakoli elaboration (visiting the 200 years old pressing machine), the Txirenes Saints’ heritage sheltered by an old holm oak or the typical “caserío” with more than 300 years old… All of them take us to the new winery’s building that represents the soil from which it emerges in a modern but well integrated in the environment construction.

We will discover the txakoli’s elaboration secrets visiting the microvinification and the R & D areas that contain the new projects of the winery.

We will end at the tasting area where all the technical team will join the last tasting of the txakolis sharing a relaxed conversation.
