Come to the museum and learn about the past, present and future of "txakoli", a fresh, lively and cheerful wine that has been able to transform and adapt to our times. Delve into its history and that of one of the municipalities with a great Txakoli tradition , Bakio, land of txakoli.
Guided tour with audiovisuals, interactive, temporary exhibitions ... an interpretation center where you can taste different types of txakoli paired with typical pintxos of our land (Gilda and Idiazabal cheese).
More than just a museum... txakoli through the five senses
Through audiovisual and interactive media and accompanied by a guide, the Txakolingunea offers the opportunity to learn about the characteristics and the process of making txakoli from Bizkaia, its history and the evolution that in recent times has been transforming the txakoli and the wineries, which despite following traditional values, have introduced the latest technological advancements and have garnered weel-deserved recognition and prestige through their efforts and dedication.
The visit will cover the five areas of the museum: two five-minute audiovisuals about the process of elaboration of this singular and unique wine as well as the history of one of the municipalities with a great “Txakoli” tradition, Bakio. Screens and interactives to learn about the past and present of the txakoli of Bizkaia, the opportunity to dance to the sound of the “txistu” and the txakoli song and sing with our "aitite" songs passed down from generation to generation by our elders.
We ended the experience with a small tasting led by the same guide, tasting two different txakolis paired with two very typical Basque pintxos, the "Gilda" and Idiazabal cheese. Come and discover the secrets of this ancestral wine, so typical of our land and with its own character: "Bizkaiko Txakolina, our identity, your enjoyment".
